Daily Hollow Interview! Anoither terrific interview with a HOT romance erotica writer! :-)

 Aloha everyone,

Please give a warm welcome to my friend and fellow ERWA romance erotica writer ~ Daily Hollow! He writes enticing intriguing romance erotica in all genres. He'll have you hooked on his latest steamy, (with more to come) tough but tender, woman on woman romances! Thanks so much for being here Daily and giving interesting answers to my questions! It's so interesting getting to know people 'outside' of 'work.' :-) Or was that play? :-)

Tell our readers a wee bit about yourself. What are 5 things you wished you’d done, have done or are still to do, on the Bucket List? J

1. Joined the military at an earlier age

2. Studied abroad during undergrad years

3. Run with the bulls

4. Deploy to Africa

5. French kiss a French woman (French Canadian doesn’t count).

Tell us about the genre you write, why do you love it and how did you get into it? Currently I write erotic romance.

I got into it by accident. Beforehand I did a lot of freelance and content writing. However, one day I decided to give fiction another try and did a Google search for writing contests. The first site to pop up was Literotica. I started reading some of the stories and became hooked. A few months later, I discovered ERWA.

What’s your most favorite restaurant in the world? Where, why and the best dish/es they make?

I cannot remember the name. It was an obscure hole-in-the-wall in New Orleans, just outside the naval base. The food was incredible and surprisingly inexpensive. I had beer-battered onion rings as an appetizer, and some sort of crawfish dish as the main course.

If you could pick a past life, what time period would appeal to you and why? Would you be male or female? Rich or poor?

The sixties, man. Though I’ve never been much of a drug user, I think I would have had a blast at Woodstock. I would have rolled in the grooviest Volkswagen bus known to man. I would only require enough money to travel comfortably around the country and catch a few concerts here and there.

Remember those ads for Expedia that asked, ‘If you could go anywhere in the world, but have to go right now?’ Where would you have gone and would you have said to YES to right now? What pulls and entices you to that country?

If I was single, Central America or Brazil because of the hot women. Now that I’m married, my wife tells me Vancouver and Yosemite are really nice. I would also like to go to Germany because the food and beer are legendary.

What parts of you, are incorporated into your characters?

Funny you should ask. All my characters are animal lovers, are affiliated with the military, sports fans, or all three. Those are things I am very passionate about.

Favorite male hero/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

My grandfather. Even though he had an eighth grade education, he was very smart and one of the most resourceful human beings I have ever met. Think MacGyver.

Favorite female heroine/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

Danica Patrick! Number one, she’s hot. Number two, she competes in a sport that’s male dominated, and number three, she’s hot!

Have you ever had a character just “do their own thing?” Have you ever had an argument with one of your characters? Or anything else odd happen?

The novel I’m currently working on features witches, warlocks, demons, mermaids and other magical creatures. One of my witches decided to go all rogue and now I have to change the storyline because I now have an evil witch.

What’s your passion in life?

My family.

Daily's family is his passion and you can see why! Ooh, so cute!! :-)

What’s your writer’s routine? Do you write whenever or at certain times? Are you a panster or plotter? Where do you like to write?

I power up one of my piece of shit lap tops. After praying it eventually loads and the screen doesn’t get all squiggly I start writing. Usually if one doesn’t work properly, the other will. Typically I write on the couch, bedroom (where I’m at now) or at Starbucks. I don’t plot an outline – I mostly come up with an idea (usually during my morning walk) then let the story flow from there.

Kay Dee Royal Interview! Another fabulous interview with one of our own Hot Muse authors! :-)

Aloha everyone,

Please give a warm welcome to my good friend and fellow Muse it Hot author ~ Kay Dee Royal ~ who writes hot to trot paranormal and erotica romance. She likes her men ruggedly strong and her heroines intelligent, with some shadowy secrets thrown in. And naturally they're sultry and sexy as hell too.  :-) Just how we like them... Thanks so much for being here and Aloha Kay Dee!! :-)

Tell our readers a wee bit about yourself. What are 5 things you wished you had done, have done or are still to do, on the Bucket List? J

1.   Wish I would have started writing seriously sooner;)

2.   To do – travel around MI with hubby and fishJ Best writing done on the water (if I’m not catching fish). We’ve already fished a ton of lakes in our state, but there’s always more when living in a state of 10,000 lakesJ

3.   My family (father, sisters, and all of their families) have taken a week vacation every summer together for about twenty years – it’s been the most memorable times. We’re sort of going our separate ways…only because our group is getting so large it’s tough to plan a place for 40 people *LOL* We like cabins on lakes and some of us bring 4-legged dudes, so it takes a lot of research time finding our spots. Hate to see it stop, but families grow and then we get to vacation with our own off spring and their children J

4.   We mushroom hunt every spring and ice fish for crappy every winter…boat fish during summer and my husband hunts deer during the fall & early winter. We are definitely nature people

5.   Meg, this question is a toughie for me – everything I’ve done, I’m happy I did, things I haven’t done…well, I don’t miss, things to come…the door’s open and I welcome the experience – with the hope we do travel through our lovely state where a number of my stories take place

Tell us about the genre you write, why do you love it and how did you get into it?

I’ve always been a sci-fi freak (before it was broken into paranormal, fantasy, urban fantasy, steam punk, etc.)…I still love sci-fi, but my absolute favorite genre to read and to write is Paranormal, with Fantasy a close second;)

The erotic romance part of my genre happened quite by accident – I wrote (ghost writer) the sexy love scenes for another author and totally fell in love with writing those lovely scenesJ Not sure what that says about me…but when it flows that fun and easy, well, ya just gotta write it, right?

What’s your most favorite restaurant in the world? Where, why and the best dish/es they make?

You will think this is so bad…my favorite restaurant isn’t really a restaurant at all – I prefer cafés – and will frequent them as often as I can to work/write. I love chai lattes with 2 pumps of chocolate (24 oz.)…and I’m high on lifeJ Only get to do this a couple times a month…but it gets me out of the house and into another whole energy center:)

Remember those ads for Expedia that asked, ‘If you could go anywhere in the world, but have to go right now?’ Where would you have gone and would have said YES to right now? What pulls and entices you to that country?

Remember my saying I love natural fun – fishing, hiking, mushroom hunting, vacations in cabins by a lake…well, I’d love to go and visit Alaska in the summer…maybe take one of those whale cruises (which cruising isn’t my cup o’ tea) but I love watching whales. We got to view them from a balcony on Maui years ago and I fell in love with the majestic power they exude when they surface and dive.

What parts of you, are incorporated into your characters?

I might incorporate some empathic abilities or intuitive abilities into my characters…pretty much all of them have my love of the outdoors; ) Beyond that…the sexy stuff, well, that’s totally creative fiction – I’m very much an introvert at heart (did I just say that out loud??) J

Favorite male hero/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

Oh, my gosh…this is so tough. For the longest time my male hero was my father…and perhaps in some respects he still is (and he is still living and active). It became a split between my father and my husband…and now, well – I married an alpha male – and after forty-some years together, well, he really is my hero.

I’m not a person who watches the news or pays too close attention to the anger and negative events of the world. It doesn’t feed me to know it…so in a worldly sense my heroes are people such as the Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, Mike Dooley, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, you get my drift here – higher consciousness type of thinkers and doers ;)

Favorite female heroine/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

Opera Winfrey;)

Have you ever had a character just “do their own thing?” Have you ever had an argument with one of your characters? Or anything else odd happen?

Holy hell yes! Savage Smoke…I could go on and on – I had the toughest time finishing that book…it was his time to die, and he fought me – I mean like kept grabbing my pen, refusing to leave the pages behind *grins*

I’m finding the same thing happening for book three – Smoke ‘n’ Bliss. *shakes head* He continues to want redemption for his misguided evilness…but should actually stand up and take responsibility for his wrong doing. It’s our total argument with each other. He thinks he can redeem himself another way…but I told him the only way to redemption after everything he’s done would be to slide-out saving someone (slide-out…meaning die doing it).

He’s so dang stubborn! So, I don’t know at this point which of us will win this argument.

What’s your passion in life?

My grandchildren…they have the energy of angels;)

What’s your writer’s routine? Do you write whenever or at certain times? Are you a pantser or plotter? Where do you like to write?

I write all over my house – little stations in pretty much every room for when the mood suites me…I get bored with the same o’ same o’ – in the spring and fall I love writing on my three-season porch. It faces out to my back yard…which is nothing fancy, but I can view all the birds, squirrels, and bunnies and hear their ambient sounds;)

Oh…I’m a pantser all the way, although Claudia Suzanne (http://claudiasuzanne.com/ ) has an amazing tool – Plot your Novel in 15 minutes (or as some of us know it – Meet in the Middle Plotting) that seems to work well for me;) Not sure she still offers it on her website, but if you contact her, I think she’d accommodate you:-)

If you could pick a past life, what time period would appeal to you and why? Would you be male or female? Rich or poor?

I always thought I’d be better suited as a female pilgrim/or farmer wife of the mid-west territory. Tending the garden, making soap and candles, having a root cellar…I’m not into History so much, but I’ve had many dreams of me tending gardens in a long dress and apron living in a valley along a mountain range. (And if you know me…I’m nothing like that – hate dresses). Wooden cabin and some rough fencing that kept a few animals from running off. *LOL*

I wouldn’t think in terms of money – rich or poor, only in the abundance of what we had.

Kay Dee Royal Bio:

Kay Dee Royal writes paranormal, fantasy, and contemporary erotic romance—maybe because they’re also her favorite genres to read! She pens tales with wild, rugged heroes and strong, intelligent heroines. She'll give them both a few shadowy secrets, making her stories intriguing and fun. She resides in Southern Michigan with her family (her dog, her cats, her caged husband... you get the idea). You can find the latest on her titles from her publisher, MuseItHot.

Michele Micheal Rakes ~ a fantastic interview with Mikey. Another HOT romance erotica writer :-)

Love Mikey's pink hair! :-)
Michele Micheal Rakes writes gripping psychological thrillers, and impactful meaningful stories. Her characters jump off the pages and you fall in love with them. Every single one.

Please give a warm welcome to my friend, fellow ERWA poly and male/male writer Mikey! She has been one of the most influential writers for me in the my career as an erotica writer. Also for my previous guest Spencer Dryden. Without her help, I would not be where I am today. :-) THANK YOU and Thank you for being here with great answers! I loved reading them and hope our readers will too. :-)

Tell our readers a wee bit about yourself. What are 5 things you wished you’d done, have done or are still to do, on the Bucket List? J

1. I would like to go to Egypt as a part of an archaeological expedition.

2.  I’ve been to Turkey, that’s as far as I got, but the Museum in Ankara where they displayed artifacts from Catel Huyuk were phenomenal.
3. I want to go to Scotland. I had the opportunity to go to school in Scotland, but my daughter was afraid to leave her Grammy. She was only six at the time. So that’s something I wished I’d done.
4.  I’d like my first novel, Trainwreck to be a mainstream release, but we all have our fantasies, yeah? (I'd also like it to be a mainstream release! It's really, really GOOD!~Meg)
5.  Traveling the U.S. on my Harley Davidson would be a great adventure I’d like to someday make happen.

Mikey with her husband Scott on their Harley's making a start on their US Road Trip in Idaho.

Tell us about the genre you write, why do you love it and how did you get into it?

It started with Trainwreck. At the time it was sort of a traditional romance, but I started out with my MC’s already married to each other and on the brink of divorce. The husband had a lot of secrets, but the biggest one was his sexuality. Into BDSM on the sly, he went for years to a gay whip master, insinuating into the man’s life. Vince’s acceptance of his love for this man moved me into another direction. This was the turning point for me into the m/m romance genre. Granted, Trainwreck is a poly, my other works are strictly m/m romance.

What’s your most favorite restaurant in the world? Where, why and the best dish/es they make?
The Summit House Restaurant at Crystal Mountain, WA. Best view of Mt. Rainier and the best chocolate crème brulee.

Remember those ads for Expedia that asked, ‘If you could go anywhere in the world, but have to go right now?’ Where would you have gone and would you have said to YES to right now? What pulls and entices you to that country?
Scotland. Right now. You offering me a plane ticket? I’ll go. I’m Scottish. Nuff said. Highlands, Heather, and truly righteous bangers. Plus, I like guys in kilts. So much so, I married one.

What parts of you, are incorporated into your characters?
Oh, that really depends on the characters. Vincent Sweetwater, my lead in Trainwreck, is all me, the submissiveness, the brattiness, the quick temper, and the masochism. Plus the deep loving nature he tries to hide down deep. Kane is the part of me that wanted to be a dancer, while Garrett is the firefighter I had to quit training for because I was pregnant with my son, Angus. Irus and Jackson are the football players I’d like to be if I’d been born a boy.

Favorite male hero/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

I shall always tip my hat to John Lennon, who tried to imagine a world so much better than this one.
Favorite female heroine/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?
I have two, Amelia Earhart, and Agatha Christie. Because they did things people said women shouldn’t. I admire them.

Mikey emulating her female heroes. :-)
Have you ever had a character just “do their own thing?” Have you ever had an argument with one of your characters? Or anything else odd happen?
Vince took over a bit, but so did his father, who in the beginning was a bad man. He insisted he wasn’t, and he convinced me otherwise. So much so, that I wrote his own story after Trainwreck, called Surviving Adam. John Sweetwater is my Cinderella story.
(And it's also fabulous!~Meg)

What’s your passion in life?
Writing of course, but I love my Harley, too. I love tattoos and piercings. My daughter is a tattoo artist, so she gives Momma the family discount.

What’s your writer’s routine? Do you write whenever or at certain times? Are you a pantser or plotter? Where do you like to write?
I’m more productive in the mornings, but I try to make time to write on the weekends. I panted it with Trainwreck, but I vaguely plotted Surviving Adam. I totally panted it with Saving Kane. Fourth and Long, I’ve done a fair bit of plotting. I know what’s going to happen, I just have to write it all and let the scenes play out a bit, too. I know what each chapter needs to do and I just start writing. I dedicate at least once a week to belt out one or two chapters. Then there’s editing. I do that after the first draft is complete.

If you could pick a past life, what time period would appeal to you and why? Would you be male or female? Rich or poor?
I’d be male, for sure. In Scotland, with some land and a community to protect. Probably a clan leader, or warrior, charged with protecting my clan from incursions of Vikings Raiders. Yeah, sounds like bloody fun.

Michele Micheal Rakes (Mikey) Bio ~

Michele Micheal Rakes lives in the Pacific Northwest beneath the shadow of a great mountain. Surrounded by beauty and inspiration, she rides her Harley through groves of old forests and follows crisp glacial rivers.

She lives with her husband and two crazy Egyptian Mau's, one so fat he makes the house shake.

Known to friends as "Mikey," she has always dreamt of being a writer, and concocts many fantasies to get her through the normalcy of everyday life. Dreams she makes come true in hopes of inspiring her three grown children to pursue their daydreams, and do whatever their hearts desire.

An unusual Christmas decoration - one of the Egyptian Mau's - possibly not the fat one as I doubt that branch would offer him much support. :-)

Spencer Dryden - Fabulous interview with Spencer, who has great answers to my questions. :-)

Spencer busily collecting dialogue from his characters
Aloha everyone! Please welcome my friend and fellow ERWA erotica and other genre writer Spencer Dryden! He is my first blog guest, so thank you Spencer for being here. Gosh, people have some fun answers to things and do some amazing stuff in their life! I love reading about it and hope you will too. :-)

Tell our readers a wee bit about yourself. What are 5 things you wished you’d done, have done or are still to do, on the Bucket List? J

1. Ski at Vail (Colorado) again

2. Walk the beach at Summer Haven (Florida) again

3. Be interviewed by Charlie Rose

4. Fund a Chair at the B-School (I want to be there when the truck from Good Will arrives with the chair. I don't often address graduates of the B-school I attended, but when I do, I always order the large fries.)

5. Turn down playing bridge with Bill Gates and Warren Buffett-I'm too busy to play some stupid card game.

Another gorgeous sunset at Summer Haven in Florida

Tell us about the genre you write, why do you love it and how did you get into it?

I keep trying to write erotica but all kinds of other stuff keeps coming out of the pen. When I decided to try writing fiction, I thought I would be most successful at writing what was on my mind all the time. I'm a guy so that means sex. How can you not love erotic fiction? I can make love to any woman I want and my wife could care less.

I got into writing fiction by accident-the great career shaper. I was never a reader and not a writer either. My bio humorously says I was trained in fiction writing on the job with the many marketing reports I wrote for managers. That is very close to the truth. Writing fiction had been hovering around in my mind for a long time. I turned 62 and realized if I didn't start acting on some of my dreams I was going to take a dirt nap with nothing on the obituary.

I believe that an important element of success is luck and the kindness of strangers. I had a little of both. I made a friend through Facebook — a friend of one of my high school idols. This guy was/is a reasonably successful author and playwright. In a rare moment of courage I asked him to read some of the stuff I had been writing. He was kind enough to do it. He told me I was a natural storyteller and had a great ear for dialogue. Blew me away. He told me I was a writer and had to work at it. Ironically he doesn't like romance or erotica but could see something through the stories I sent him. I started writing. I'm 64 now.

What’s your most favorite restaurant in the world? Where, why and the best dish/es they make?

Sadly, my favorite restaurant is gone. It was a little coffee shop called Susan's that had the best coffee and cookies in the world— essential fuel for writers. Most of all they served hope, hope that if I held on to my dreams, one day they might come true.

Remember those ads for Expedia that asked, ‘If you could go anywhere in the world, but have to go right now?’ Where would you have gone and would you have said to YES to right now? What pulls and entices you to that country?

I want to go to England to the finals of Wimbledon and sit in the royal box on Championship Sunday  and have people say 'who is that guy sitting next to Bjorn Borg?' I was an avid tennis player as a younger man. The pomp, ceremony and tradition of Wimbledon is unmatched in sports. Poo poo kaff kaff.

Failing a court side seat at Wimbledon, Spencer loves to come back to this gorgeous locale in Florida at any time. Doesn't it look like the perfect chill out and do nothing place.

What parts of you, are incorporated into your characters?

My self effacing humor and my cluelessness when women are sending me signals.

Favorite male hero/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

Steven Spielberg. He knows so much about the human heart and visual storytelling.

Favorite female heroine/public figure you admire in the world, dead or alive, and why?

Sigourney Weaver. She's so hot and she killed the mother alien.

Have you ever had a character just “do their own thing?” Have you ever had an argument with one of your characters? Or anything else odd happen?

All the time. Breathless Press asked me to do a character interview with Christina McArdle the MC of "Bliss". She wouldn't do it.
(LOL. Aren't they laws unto themselves, some of our characters. Love it!)

People have said nice things about my dialogue and ask how I write dialogue. I tell them sheepishly that I don't write dialogue. I put two characters together and let them go and try to write it down as fast as I can.

What’s your passion in life?

Now it's creating the next story.

What’s your writer’s routine? Do you write whenever or at certain times? Are you a panster or plotter? Where do you like to write?

I'm trying to develop the discipline of writing every day. Not there yet. I am a panster. I also have the attention span of a fly—which might explain why I have concentrated on short works. I am amazed what happens when I sit down and start writing. I write best in the morning. I like to write at the local coffee shop but I'm doing more at home these days.

This lovely wee spot is the setting for Spencer's upcoming short story, 'Love Above See Level.'

If you could pick a past life, what time period would appeal to you and why? Would you be male or female? Rich or poor?

I want to go back to the 80's and be very rich, single and good looking. Okay I settle for rich. If you're rich you're good looking. God did not make any ugly rich men. I give you The Donald (Trump) as proof.

BLISS
by Spencer Dryden

Christina McArdle must cast out the demons of her past and present or lose the love of her life.
###

Behind her career success in Bliss, New Hampshire, Christina McArdle struggles with demons of past and present that threaten the loss of all she loves.

Christina McArdle is on the fast track of career success. In rapid succession she has been named the first woman partner of the prestigious CPA firm, Driscol, Ryan, Jensen and Palmer and selected as the first female member of the exclusive Maplewood Country Club. But she fears that her success is beginning to take its toll. Her husband, Ben, has lost sexual interest in her. Still traumatized by the aftermath of a sexual assault and shame bound by a misogynistic pastor, she must cast out the demons of her past and present or lose the love of her life.

######

In the prosperous community of Bliss, New Hampshire, in 1995, Christina  McArdle is living a feminist dream. In short order she has become the first female partner of the venerable, male dominated CPA firm of Driscol, Ryan, Jensen and Palmer. The honor followed by her selection as the first female member of the prestigious Maplewood Country Club.
But Christina fears that her career success has come at a terrible price. Her husband, Ben, has lost sexual interest in her. Unable to ignite his passion for her and desperate for understanding of her own inhibitions, Christina turns  to Dr. Rachel Morrisey, a sex therapist, who helps Christina uncover dark secrets from her past.
Christina's path to recovery is blocked by a misogynistic pastor who traps her and many other women of her church in a shame bind that serves his purulent interests.
Her path to freedom requires Christina to break bonds from past and present or lose the thing she loves most in life, the love of husband and family.

Spencer Dryden’s Bio

Some men are born great, others strive for greatness; still others have greatness thrust upon them. Spencer Dryden is none of these men. In fact, he is so unimpressive, he leaves no footprints on newly fallen snow.

He was trained in fiction writing on the job with the many sales reports he produced for his managers, winning the coveted “keep your job contest” three years running. His expense reports are still considered masterpieces of forgery by the bankruptcy trustee of his former employer.

He lives an unremarkable life in a suburb of a northern city. His friends and family would drop dead in horror if they knew of his secret life as a writer of erotica. He hates the family cat but still loves to pet his wife.
